All of these mags are just a scam! They say free to wheel you in but offer NO free content! You cant even look at the table of contents!

The new version crashes everytime I try to download. Fix it!!!

Its a free download of what is considered a "app" that you purchase articles or subscribe for a yearly fee. There is no I repeat NO free content not even a starter free issue. Even the playboy app give you a free issue so you can see if your interested in purchasing more. I will stick to the paper versions.

I didnt expect a full issue for free, but there are no sample stories. this is deceptive.

This app doesnt even allow a preview of what youd be paying 6.99 or 29.99 for, instead you just pay and then see what theyd give you. Who wants to pay for a service when you dont know what youre getting.

what a load of B/S! Just tell everyone that is $7 up front. My kid knows that he can have anything thats free in the store so he downloaded this deceptive crap. You have a few things to learn from Google.

I hate apps that pose FREE only to require for you to subscribe to read content.

This app could be better if they gave you 1 issue to download at no cost to determine if it worth buying a subscription. To download and find out that you have to buy without looking is a poor way of Marketing. Who ever put this together really didnt think of what it takes to get the reader interested. I like to see what features the magazine has to make it worth my wild to buy digital versus hard copy.

What a waste of data

First of all, let me make clear that, unlike earlier reviewers, I do understand how Newstand works. The app is free, then you subscribe if you want to read the magazine. However, I do feel that giving one free (even if its a few months out of date) would help people make a decision whether or not to plunk down the money for a subscription. This is especially important for a magazine with a high subscription price, such as this one. I felt safe gambling on MacLife for $.99/month. Asking $30 up front ask for a bit more faith. I ended up buying a single issue to evaluate it, but that $7.99 would have gone a long way toward that subscription price. Also, Im not going to review the magazine content. While I understand that the content is relevant to a review, I also feel that its largely subjective. The problems I have are with the app itself. It doesnt keep track of where you left off in the magazine. You can multi-task out and back into the app and be ok, but if you pick up reading a day later, you have to figure out where you were. Secondly, it crashed. A lot. Especially as I got toward the end of the magazine. Fix these two issues and you have a great app.
